When Kozmic Korner Early Learning Center was founded in 1980 as a single facility, it was the intention of providing a safe, friendly environment to care for the needs of children. Today, parents are demanding more.
Nearly thirty years after its inception, Kozmic Korner takes pride in providing a rich, educational experience for the children of this community, still enshrouded in the same loving and caring atmosphere you have come to trust.
You are the most important person in making child care a positive experience for your son or daughter. Service Overview
Kozmic Korner provides child care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. In addition, we also offer infant care, field trips, after school programs for latchkey children (including transportation at some locations), computer introduction and education, transportation services, and extended-hour child care (selected locations).
Kozmic Korner maintains the highest standards in the staff we maintain. They put the child first and look to build a relationship with the children in their charge.
Mission Statement
To provide children with high quality care, which includes their cognitive development, socialization, health and fun in a loving environment. At the same time, we provide families with the support they need in order to fulfill their work or school obligations. Our company stands to empower, support and encourage our employees, so that they can feel good about themselves and the care in which they are providing. Infant Studies confirm what parents already know: Infants feel most comfortable in the security of their own home. In keeping with this understanding, Kozmic Korner has duplicated that in-home feeling with our home-style nursery. Soft, beautiful borders will stimulate your infant. Each has her own special nook carved out with her own crib; a warm blanket with linen corners downturned looks inviting. Feel free to bring in a favorite stuffed toy or blanket for your baby to cuddle with at naptime.
Although no one can replace a parent's love, our caregivers relish in showering your baby with love and attention, making our nursery a comfortable home away from home. Infants are encouraged to join in our interactive play and parents are given daily reports on eating and sleeping routines, bowel movements, major activities and development mile-stones so you won't miss a thing.
Toddler
The toddler years are a very special time for children. This is a time of transition from infancy to pre-school. Not babies anymore, but not yet preschoolers, toddlers are curious and thirsty for knowledge. With plenty of time for play to encourage free-thinking and self-confidence, your child will be introduced to counting, shapes and colors, early vocabulary, memory games, music, songs and rhymes all in a fun learning environment. We foster self-confidence at one of many play stations. Whether they are dressing up like mommy and taking a stroll through the park with the baby in our dramatic play area, or building a space rocket out of Lego's in manipulative, your child will discover a sense of accomplishment. Daily activity reports are sent home with your child to keep you abreast of your child's achievements.
Pre-School
Pre-school children relish in discovery and building independence. Your child is now learning to "do" for himself. By the time your preschooler has gone through Kozmic Korner's preschool, he/she will have been exposed to a wide variety of skills and information that will have your child prepared to enter kindergarten. From learning computer basics at one of two in-room computer stations, to reconstructing Christopher Columbus' famous voyage with remakes of the Pinta, Nina, and Santa Maria. Children will make new and memorable discoveries.
School-age
Kozmic Korner now offers a fun, safe alternative to traditional latchkey in our After School Program. Structured activities are intertwined with learning for school children ages 5-11. Your child will be guided through exciting activities and supervised playtime and may participate in a wide variety of age-appropriate planning's like making their own tie-dye t-shirts or attending field trips to the Cleveland Science Center or Akron Art Museum. Computer training is available along with books, crafts, and outdoor activities. Transportation is available at most locations.
Curriculum
Kozmic Korner specializes in a whole-child approach to teaching, concentrating on the social, emotional, cognitive and physical aspects of your child's day. Our curriculum is designed with the child's age and capabilities in mind and each child progresses at their own rate, in a non-competitive atmosphere. The Kozmic Korner "experience" will encourage critical thinking skills and increase confidence. We help build self-esteem through the learning process while allowing each child to maintain his/her individuality. Kozmic's teaching staff consists of affectionate, caring teachers. Upon completing their years at Kozmic Korner, our children are well prepared to begin their studies in school.
Field Trips
We believe the more new, positive experiences a child is exposed to, the more expanded her overall learning experience will be. Our community has a wealth of entertaining educational attractions. Inventure Place, Great Lakes Science Center, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and Discovery Zone are just a few of the places your child may visit. One day your child may erect mirrored towers to learn about light refraction or the take a walk through the human body. All providing your child with a variety of cultural exposures.
Computers
Each of our facilities is outfitted with computer stations to introduce children to the fundamentals of computer education. We offer hands-on learning in a loving environment with programs that can be tailored to each child’s learning and developmental needs. Each child’s progress is individually charted and tracked. Basic computer skills such as mouse control, following directions and simple computer terminology are taught through music, songs and rhymes. As children become more proficient, they can expand on their skills with more challenging applications.
